Co-Diagnostics CEO Dwight Egan is currently visiting the countries of Guyana and Trinidad and Tobago, where he has been invited to introduce our revolutionary testing solutions to select hospitals and laboratories in those regions. On October 24, 2016, Mr. Egan and two members of our science team presented Co-Diagnostics’ Zika Virus Rapid Test™ to staff and press at an event hosted by Woodlands Hospital in Guyana. The presentation included a description of the PCR technology behind the Zika Virus Rapid Test, including its key features, design history, and potential pricing structure, and was modeled using the BIO Molecular Systems MIC 48-well PCR device. Devices like the MIC work in tandem with Co-Diagnostics’ low-cost, high quality reagents, to make this fully-integrated molecular diagnostics platform affordable and available in areas often overlooked by our competitors.
Co-Diagnostics has recently joined with financial partners to organize a subsidiary that has as its goal the sale and marketing of diagnostics for Zika and related mosquito-borne illnesses. The official press release announcing the subsidiary will soon be public, and it is along with this subsidiary that Co-Diagnostics will be entering into an agreement with Woodlands Hospital.
Following the visit with Woodlands Hospital, the team continued on to visit with senior Guyanese public officials, including Public Health Minister Dr. George Norton.
